Joseph Brooks was a
Theatre manager at the Memphis Theatre, New Memphis Theatre,
and Leubries Theatre for about 5 years circa 1875. This
was a pattern for him - repeating in Atlanta, Detroit, several
other cities, and finally New York. This successful
internship opened the doors for him in New York, where he
became a very prominent Producer and Director.
His daughter
Virginia Fox Brooks became an actress of note.
